Mark has worked in sustainable finance for over three decades and helped establish early responsible investment funds at Jupiter Asset Management, NPI, AMP Capital and Henderson Global Investors. His work helped bring the concepts of stranded assets, the carbon bubble and unburnable carbon into mainstream financial debate. Mark was a founding director of UKSIF and has served on advisory groups including the UNEP Financial Sector Initiative, GFANZ and the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation’s Conservation & Markets Initiative. He is a Visiting Lecturer at the Imperial College’s sustainable finance programme and holds a BA in Politics and Economic History and an MSc in Agricultural Economics.

Niall joined the Tracker Group in May 2025 as Director of Research, overseeing the delivery of Carbon Tracker & Planet Tracker research programs.
Niall has 30 years of experience in global debt and equity markets, both as an investor and in research roles, at: Goldman Sachs (from 1990 to 1997), KBC Financial Products (2000-2010), Avoca Capital/KKR (2010-2016) and Man GLG (2017-2021). Niall has invested in & researched most corporate and financial sectors, and produced a variety of thematic research including an innovative model for assessing credit default risk, pricing subordinated bank & insurance capital, and integrating material ESG risk assessment into credit investing.

Graham has more than 20 years of experience working across energy, climate change and sustainability. Graham has worked in various roles in energy efficiency, the UK electricity market, the strategy team at the Carbon Trust and, most recently, as an independent strategy consultant helping small, growing organisations across the sustainability sector.

Rich is an Analyst in the Energy Supply team. His research has covered upstream oil & gas, methane, and aviation decarbonisation. He is lead author of Petro-Provinces at Risk, Awaiting Take-Off and Paris Maligned III, and co-author of PetroStates of Decline, Stranded Exports and the Absolute Impact series.
Prior to Carbon Tracker, Rich worked as an editor and reporter at the climate and energy non-profit DeSmog, partnering with media outlets on investigations into greenwashing, lobbying and misinformation. Rich holds an MSc in energy and environmental economics from University College London.
Rich Collett-White
Energy Analyst
Saidrasul is an analyst in the Energy Supply team. He focuses on executive remuneration, emission targets and transition plans across the oil and gas value chain, covering upstream, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, and aviation. He is the lead author of the last three editions of Crude Intentions, as well as Absolute Impact 2023, Petrochemical Imbalance, and Fuel Disclosure.
Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, he worked as the managing editor of the Uzbekistan Energy Monitor, covering oil and gas, conventional power, and renewables. He also worked as a journalist and news presenter.
Saidrasul holds a BA in Commercial Law and an MPhil in Sociology.

Olivia joined Carbon Tracker’s Energy Supply team as an Associate Analyst in 2023. Previously, Olivia managed a project on climate-related financial risk for the University of Oxford. She has also advised private equity, growth equity, and private credit investors as an ESG management consultant at Malk Partners, where she completed over 200 ESG due diligence reviews and co-developed the firm’s climate change due diligence framework and private credit service line.
Olivia holds an MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise, and the Environment from the University of Oxford and a BS in International Affairs (majoring in International Economics) from Georgetown University.
Olivia Bisel
Analyst
Ben is the Head of Energy Demand at Carbon Tracker, where he analyses shifting global energy trends, including transition risks within the automotive sector. He joined Carbon Tracker in 2022, bringing experience from across financial services, industry analysis, and market research. Previously, Ben managed automotive credit exposure and risk analysis for MUFG Bank in London, and worked within the automotive industry at Aston Martin Lagonda. He began his career at IHS Markit (now part of S&P Global), leading the E-Mobility research service with a focus on decarbonisation and emissions legislation. Ben holds a degree in Physics from the University of Leeds.

Philip has 20 years’ experience in the asset management industry having previously worked as a global equity analyst and portfolio manager at Universities Superannuation Scheme and Old Mutual Asset Managers.
Philip holds a masters in IT from the University of Stirling.

Barbara joined Carbon Tracker in 2020. As Head of the Transparency Team, she leads Carbon Tracker’s work on climate-related accounting, audit and disclosure, including the Flying Blind series and ARO scorecard. Barbara has 30 years of advisory and capital markets experience in the US, France, Hong Kong and the UK. Before joining Carbon Tracker, she led investor engagement at the International Accounting Standards Board and held roles at Morgan Stanley, Nomura, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. Barbara is a US CPA and holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Tino joined Carbon Tracker’s Capital Markets Transparency team as an Associate Analyst working on accounting and auditing climate disclosures. Prior to this, Tino spent years working in the accounting industry. There he gained experience and working knowledge of financial reporting for companies in a wide variety of sectors.
Tino graduated from Lancaster University with a BSc in Economics with a particular interest in environmental and development economics.

Emma Dai is an Analyst in Carbon Tracker’s Capital Markets Transparency team, where she focuses on improving transparency in financial statement disclosures of climate-related financial impacts (including in the audits thereof). She began her career at EY, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, before moving to Lloyds Banking Group as an Internal Audit Manager, where she specialised in data risk. Emma holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University.

Richard Folland heads Carbon Tracker’s policy work, overseeing the Financial Policy team and working across the organisation on the policy implications of our research. He took up this role in 2023, having been Carbon Tracker’s policy and government affairs advisor since 2014. Richard has over 25 years' experience as a British diplomat and has worked over two decades on climate, energy and sustainability. His last job for the UK Foreign Office 2004-2007 was as Head of International Energy Policy for the Government. Richard also has capital markets experience, having been JPMorgan’s European Energy and Climate Policy Advisor from 2007-2020. He has been on the UKSIF Policy Committee since 2023

Amy Owens is a Programme Manager in Carbon Tracker’s Financial Policy team, specialising in strengthening climate-related financial policy and regulation, and engaging with asset owners on systemic climate risk. Prior to joining Carbon Tracker five years ago, she was a Senior Public Affairs Executive at a publishing industry membership body. Amy was awarded PRWeek’s Public Affairs Newcomer of the Year (2020) and holds a Master’s in International Security from the University of Bristol.

Chris leads the Data & Modelling team at Carbon Tracker and Planet Tracker. His team of data scientists and data engineers work at the intersection of environmental science, finance, and cutting-edge data science across all our research programmes. The team develops and codifies methodologies, builds tools, and integrates AI across workstreams to bring essential and timely data to the fingertips of finance professionals.
Chris holds a Masters in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London where he won the Ross Makuch Memorial Prize for Environmental Law.

Durand is a data scientist at Carbon Tracker in the Power & Utilities team, with experience across a wide range of domains. Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, he was a freelance data journalist producing interactive visual stories, winning an Information Is Beautiful award along the way. He also worked on a PhD in computational stellar astrophysics at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Germany, until his lifelong obsession with climate & energy policy prevailed. He is interested in how machine learning can be used for social good and to bring about a just transition.
Durand holds a Masters in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leeds.

Nicolás is a consultant data scientist in Carbon Tracker’s Power & Utilities team, where he supports the team’s coal economic modelling. Before joining Carbon Tracker, Nicolás worked in astrophysics research, science outreach and computer modelling. He also undertook doctoral research in Astrophysics at the University of Bonn before moving into data science. His interests include machine learning, computer vision and the application of data science to energy transition analysis.
Nicolás holds a Master’s degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the Catholic University of Chile.

Dona works as a Data Engineer in the Data & Modelling team. Before joining Carbon Tracker, she worked for several years across data and technology roles, with a particular emphasis on energy commodity data and fintech. She has a strong professional, academic and personal interest in climate financial data, and is particularly intrigued by the potential of technological advancements to advance climate analysis and combat climate change.
Dona holds a MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, where she focused her master’s dissertation on the current and future viability of Carbon Capture and Sequestration.

Filippo is a Python developer with particular experience in the analysis of natural capital data. After graduating in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, he worked with two start-ups in the agri-tech sector, focusing on data analysis and automation. Originally from Milan, Italy, he has worked in the United Kingdom, Italy and Kenya.

Nicole’s background spans business strategy, sustainable finance and financial technology. Before joining Carbon Tracker, she was EMEA Head of Client Relations at Bloomberg LP, where she led a board-sponsored strategy to align the company’s external relations and philanthropy programmes with Bloomberg’s core business.
Nicole holds an MA in International Political Economy from King’s College London and a BA in European Studies from the University of Bremen. She has completed the CFA Level 4 Certificate in ESG Investing, is a Young SDG Innovator graduate and is a member of the UN Global Compact Network UK.

Simon brings over 20 years’ experience working in client facing roles at financial institutions. He was previously working at Japaninvest / Haitong International before joining our team where he was the Executive Director – Equity Research, ESG, Execution and Capital Markets Sales. Simon holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the CFA Society of UK.

Chris brings experience from working in the responsible investment industry. Prior to joining Carbon Tracker, he was an Outreach Analyst at the FAIRR Initiative, responsible for deepening investor engagement with the investor network, and raising awareness about the material ESG risks and opportunities present in the global protein supply chain. Chris holds an MSc in Global Challenges from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Economics, Finance and International Business from Oxford Brookes University.

Marina is a sustainability professional with strong expertise in sustainable finance and ESG regulation. Before joining Tracker Group, Marina worked in Deloitte’s Sustainability & Climate Risk Advisory team in Athens, where she led EU Taxonomy, SFDR, and CSRD compliance projects, supported sustainability-related disclosures for financial institutions, worked on public green finance initiatives, and helped integrate sustainability into both strategy and reporting. She holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance and an MSc in Sustainable Management and Finance from Bayes Business School in London.

Sally brings over two decades of communications experience, spanning both agency and in-house roles with leading global brands including American Express, Unilever, Ikea and Marks and Spencer. Before joining Carbon Tracker, she led responsible business communications at Kingfisher plc, overseeing internal and external sustainability communications across the group. Her expertise includes both traditional and digital communication strategy development, with a strong focus on sustainability communications.
Sally Palmer

Alessandra is a communications professional with over two decades of experience across international development, clean energy and human rights, including senior roles overseeing projects across Africa, Latin America and Europe. Before joining Carbon Tracker, she led communications at Energy 4 Impact, now part of Mercy Corps, delivering a rebrand, merger communications and multilingual projects. Her work spans strategic positioning, media relations, digital strategy and editorial. She holds a degree in English and French Literature and an MA in Afro-American Literature from the University of Perugia, with postgraduate study in development and sustainability at Birkbeck, University of London.

Beatrice holds a BA in History, an MSc in International Development from the University of Bristol, and an MA in Environmental Law and Sustainable Development from SOAS, University of London. She has previously reported for The Conduit and contributed feature articles to advaya. Currently, she works as an editor at the Atlas Institute for International Affairs.

Hannah joined Carbon Tracker in 2024 as Communications Officer. Before joining Carbon Tracker, she held various internship positions with sustainability NGOs in Washington, D.C. She also worked as an undergraduate research assistant, contributing to projects focusing on sustainability in the Arctic.
Hannah holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Environmental Studies and International Affairs from The George Washington University.

Rachel joined Carbon Tracker in 2022, bringing senior HR and leadership experience across the not-for-profit and public sectors. Prior to joining, she held leadership roles within the NHS, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and the Association of Colleges. She specialises in organisational transformation, change management, policy development and people strategies that support growth and long-term sustainability. Combining strategic leadership with practical HR expertise, she works closely with senior leaders to build high-performing, inclusive teams and is passionate about helping mission-driven organisations achieve lasting impact through their people and culture.

Jack joined Carbon Tracker in March 2020 as the Financial Controller. Jack’s responsible for the maintenance of all finance, accounting and reporting activities within Carbon Tracker, which include grant requests and cost management. Jack is a chartered accountant with ten years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector. Jack trained as an auditor at Buzzacott, where he gained knowledge of preparing statutory accounts and implementing a strong control environment.

Ayo is the Assistant Accountant at Carbon Tracker, where she supports the day-to-day finance operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and teamwork. With a background in the not-for-profit sector, she is passionate about using her skills to support mission-driven work.
Ayo is AAT-qualified and a member of the Chartered Institute of Administration (Nigeria).
Ayomide Alegbeleye

Nikki is responsible for funding partnerships at Carbon Tracker and Planet Tracker, and for deepening relationships within the ecosystem. Her expertise comes from 20+ years of leading teams and philanthropy programmes across the environmental and international development sectors, including at WWF, UNICEF and FILE. She has a degree in Environmental Science and is a Trustee of the Right to Education Initiative.

Harry Benham has over 30 years international experience in the oil and gas industry with BP and Shell’s Upstream Projects, and several years working in an advisory capacity with EY Oil and Gas in the UK. He now works mainly in energy transition roles as Chairman of the London-based think-tank Ember-Climate, and as a transition advisor to Carbon Tracker.

Oscar is an Associate Financial Policy Analyst at Carbon Tracker. Previously, he worked on the IMO Net Zero Framework, an international agreement on transport decarbonization, as a researcher and policy consultant. He holds a master's degree in climate policy from Dublin City University, and a bachelor's degree from Trinity College Dublin.
